ABOUT

Strongly recognizable for his eclectic and emotional approach to piano, Mario Mariani perceives his instrument as an orchestra made of unusual sonic alchemies where the composer, the pianist and the performer figures mix together at the present time. Mario Mariani is an italian composer, piano artist and performer.

He collaborates with important institutions and clients including the Venice Biennale, (with the two music for Venice Film Festival), Theaters (Piccolo of Milan, FVG, Stabile Marche), Embassies and Italian Institutes of Cultural many others, with concerts across four continents. He wrote many soundtracks for cinema, theater and television. He received the “Oscar Marchigiano 2014” award for best musician.
He is also active as a piano coach, blending the roles of composer, performer, and improviser. He conducts workshops on the relationship between artistic and musical creation, leading Masterclasses at UCR and UNA Universities in Costa Rica, the Philharmonia of Skopje, Fiestalonia in Uzbekistan, the Philippine College of Music in Manila, the Conservatorio de Música de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in Chile, and at the Opera Detention Center (Milan).

He is currently touring the world with the silent film Frate Sole (Italy, 1918, directed by Ugo Falena), with dates in Mexico, the Philippines, South America, Asia, and several European countries.
